It's a New Year and the store is beginning to fill up with lots of color. We were blessed with a very busy holiday and very long days.
For me personally, 2008 was like being on a roller coaster with all the ups and downs that one rides. In April our family lost my Mother in law, Nelle, whom many of you knew through all my stories. This was a great loss for our family, she lived with us for the last nine years. In June I was fortunate to travel with Kris to market in Ohio. I have a greater appreciation for how hard this really is. There are so many yarns and really so little time to make major decisions. As a knitter we all experience failure as well as success. My failure or should I say less successful endeavor was the fall felting class. Those who took my class had great fun outside playing with wool, soap and water. Lunch was served as well as some great refreshments, but our projects were not that successful, I'll do better next time. As a knitter you learn to put that behind you and move on. There is too much to learn to let one incident shelve your needles. I pulled out some wonderful SWTC Bamboo yarn and "Knit Kimono" by Vicki Square, with beautiful and challenging patterns. WOW, after nine weeks of solid knitting I had completed the Reeds & Grasses kimono. Check it out in the store on display.
The New Year is here and we have been busy cleaning, restocking and getting ready for new classes. You will find my sock classes, baby items, a new technique vest, summer shell, and I almost forgot our 13 month Afghan project plus many, many more. Classes begin the first week of February so check the website, online by the end of this week, read the newsletter, call or even come in and we will sign you up.
Pick up your needles, learn a new techinique and get knitting!!
